Want to Help us?
There are lots of ways you can help us, either by making a financial donation, organising a fundraising event, sponsoring an animal or building, donating supplies or by giving up some of your free time to help us.There are always jobs to do around the Ark, so we always need more people to help out. Whatever your expertise, be it DIY, gardening, odd jobs, washing up, dog-walking, socialising with the animals, please get in touch. It doesn’t matter whether you can offer just an hour here and there or whole days, we’d be grateful for any help you can give. You can find out more about volunteering opportunities below.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking for volunteers who can fulfill the following duties. If you are interested in any of these roles please contact us.
Home checkers in the Skegness, Spilsby and Boston areas. This entails visiting prospective adopters in their own homes to check that they can offer the right home and environment to the animal in question and following up afterwards until the animal is settled on an as needed basis.
Somebody to collect from the food bins in Morrisons nr Laceby every Thursday. Must be able to commit to collecting every week as the bins can get very full and taking food to the Ark any time 1-3 weekly.
Fundraiser for our foster rabbits: One of our foster mums is having to give up, at least for the foreseeable future and we now have replacement foster care. However, our current foster carers don’t have the time to keep up with the fund-raising for the rabbits in foster care. This section of our rescue has always been self-funding, covering all vet bills for the vaccination and neutering of rabbits as they come in to our care. This means no funds are taken from the Ark vet account, leaving that money for the animals actually living at the Ark. We already have a Facebook page for items for sale and we envisage our fundraiser joining this as well as collecting and storing items for sale and posting them on the site. Please contact us if you think you can help.
Collectors: We need more people to help us collect donations from our various collection points. This would be on an as needed basis so would ideally suit a retired person. We are looking for people from around the county but our busiest areas are the Louth/Alford area and Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Fundraisers: We need a team of people who can take over the job of fund-raising for us as we don’t have anybody who can co-ordinate this vital part of the work.
Due to all the mud following this winter’s heavy rain, we have areas that we’d like to pave in the spring. If anybody has any paving slabs they don’t need, please would you donate them to us? If you can drop them off , even better! If not, we’ll arrange collection.
Does anybody have a vehicle and time to do a collection and delivery run of donated paving slabs?
If you can’t give up any free time here is our current wish list of needed supplies…
